An Interview with G. Connie Runia ...

What kind of an attorney are you?  "As an attorney, my legal career has included large firm, general counsel and small business representation.  In each of those settings, my strength is that I am a problem solving, forward motion type of attorney who likes to put things together and make things work for my clients so that they can go on with doing what they do best.  Along with my knowledge and experience, I bring a positive, authentic and genuine approach - a powerful combination for any entrepreneur."

So why do you call yourself an entrepreneur?  "I am at heart an entrepreneur. That means, I look for opportunities and income streams that fit who I am - I have that in common with the businesses I represent.  I've approached every job I've held as if I were an owner.  But in 2015, I really took that step.  I knew that it was in being the owner - the person setting the priorities and direction - that I could make the most positive impact.  My law practice, ON TRACK LEGAL SERVICES PLLC began in 2015 based on my experience that many businesses and individuals need quality, practical legal representation and an approachable and responsive attorney.  My role is to advise and support my clients as they act on their dreams, not get in their way."

Why did you form On Behalf?  "The same year I founded ON BEHALF LLC, in partnership with Patrick Leinen, who brought years of experience in the collections industry.  On Behalf addresses the need of many businesses for a uniquely independent and experienced consulting resource when seeking to properly manage their Accounts Receivable.  ON BEHALF provides strategies, tools and advice based on late stage industry experience to ensure that you are paid for what you do.  It is an highly impactful aspect of business that is often overlooked."

That sounds busy.  Isn't that enough?  "I am energized making connections with people who dream big, build independence, and are committed to doing good and bringing their best. That entrepreneurial spirit is the fuel of dreams and exists across many business models.  Over the past few years, I've been intrigued by the impact of e-commerce on how people were doing business.  I decided to experience that world for myself.  And what better way to learn a new way to do business, than to identify a thriving industry and company, dive in and start a Side Gig business built on that model.

What is your Why?  "I know who I am, what fits me, where I want to be and what I want to contribute.  There is no substitute for hard work and bringing your best."  GC
